About Haidara “Doudou”

Doudou is presented for the first time to the technical staff of the JMG Mali Academy by Guindo.
The boy with definite potential is still a little too young at the end of 2007. An appointment is made to review it a little later, as soon as the serious things are well underway, and all the infrastructures under construction are well in place.
This will be done in 2009, when he participates in Arsenal (the pre-recruitment unit of the JMG Academy in Bamako) in the good care of Guindo, with a painful heel.
After a shy entry (due to his heel), he returned to his level at the end and convinced JMG of his ability to join the Academy with ¨Promotion 2.

Doudou, one evening returns home after a small football match on a vacant field in Djicoroni’s neighbourhood. As he walks on the paved road, he sees 3 younger boys in front of him. One of them has his balloon under his armpit, his feet full of dust, like Doudou, by the way. He approaches from behind and punches the balloon out of the boy’s armpits. He jumps up to lift the ball, with his foot and start juggling. The other three kids rushed to him to get their balloon and quickly return home, because the evening prayer hour was approaching and the parents could hardly tolerate missing it….
Alone against the three, Doudou has fun turning them around: a small shot to put the ball far in front of him rolling on the asphalt, acceleration to catch up, blocking it once arrived, small bridges, sombreros, jumps over the gutter with the ball, inner and outer hooks, all this with a smile and a real pleasure, before returning to them once he had had a good time, and when they had been well exhausted by their vain attempt to take their ball back.
Guindo, who in the meantime was spending a little time relaxing playing checkers under a nearby tree, had not lost anything from the scene… He calls the boy and asks him his name and the neighbourhood where he lives. The child gives some information sneakily, rather in a hurry to get home on time so as not to risk the father’s wrath.
After losing sight of him, he will be found later, and will be held to enter the JMG academy in Bamako, it is the beginning of the adventure we know today.
