Belgian footballer Joeri Poelmans will play for Helmond Sport. The 22-year-old left defender signed a two-season contract with an option for a third season.
\nIn recent years, Poelmans was under contract with Lierse SK, where he made his debut at the age of 19. “Joeri is a talented young player who fits well with Helmond Sport. He is an ambitious player with an excellent mentality,” said Leon Vlemmings, Managing Director of Helmond Sport.
\nPoelmans is very happy to start at Helmond Sport. “Because of the good discussions with Helmond Sport and my team-mate Koen Weuts (former Helmond Sport player), I have a very positive feeling about the club. It allows me to say that I made the right choice. What’s more, I find Helmond’s mentality, hard work and rolling up his sleeves, doesn’t fit as a footballer,” Poelmans explains.
